Naval Documents of the American Revolution (NDAR) at the University of Virginia's Center for Digital Editing edits and makes accessible historical documents that provide wide-ranging coverage of the American Revolution at sea. NDAR publishes documents that present multidimensional perspectives on the conflict, including documents that focus on the Continental navy, the British navy, the French navy, the Spanish navy, and the Dutch navy, as well as privateers and state navies between 1775 and 1785. NDAR transferred to the CDE from Naval History and Heritage Command on the Washington Navy Yard in 2022. Funding for NDAR is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Richard Lounsbery Foundation.
